William R. Forstchen is a Professor of History and Faculty Fellow at Montreat College. He received his doctorate from Purdue University with specializations in Military History, the American Civil War and the History of Technology. He is the author of more than 40 books. With Newt Gingrich, he is the author of To Try Men’s Souls, Valley Forge, and Victory at Yorktown, a series of historical novels about the American Revolutionary War. He book One Second After, about the aftermath of an electromagnetic pulse attack on the U.S., was a New York Times bestselling title. Its sequel, One Year After, was published in 2015. Forstchen resides in Asheville, North Carolina.
